The Ministry of Health of the Slovak Republic, the Office of Public Health of the Slovak Republic and the Council of Experts in the autumn expect a significant increase in diseases at COVID-19. The main reasons are the return from holidays, the beginning of the school year and the transfer of events to interiors. Experts therefore recall recommendations to the public, businesses and institutions. The most effective measure to minimise the impact of the disease on society is joint collective responsibility.

The epidemiological situation is currently relatively favourable, but experts expect an increase in disease during the first autumn weeks. The general public is therefore advised to continue to respect the basic rules. The first recommendation is to take advantage of the possibility of vaccination, to take care of hand hygiene (including disinfection) and to comply with respiratory hygiene principles. For example, use disposable paper handkerchiefs and then throw them away, ideally in a touchless trash can.

If you don't have a handkerchief, cover your mouth with a elbow hole. The aim is to prevent potential infectious drops from being released into the surrounding air. According to experts, it remains important to keep a reasonable physical distance, to avoid contact with sick people and a closed area with high concentrations of people. In interiors it is necessary to take care of direct, frequent and effective ventilation. If there is an increased risk of infection, experts recommend wearing a properly deployed mask or respirator. In case of illness stay at home, if the disease is more severe seek medical attention. Experts also call on businesses, institutions or schools to take account of the basic recommendations, so as to ensure that distances are kept as far as possible, to ensure sufficient access to hand washing and disinfection, and to focus on adequate ventilation of the internal environment. The Ministry, health care professionals, as well as the consortium, warns institutions and institutions to update their pandemic contingency plans so that they can respond flexibly to developments in the epidemiological situation.

The experts reiterated that vaccination, consideration of recommendations and consideration of other vulnerable ones are the most effective anti-pandemic measures in the fight against COVID-19 disease.
