After the expiry of the European Commission Regulation on the issue of vaccination documents against COVID-19 disease, the National Health Information Centre launches the issue of a document at national level. From the beginning of July, it is possible to apply electronically for a certificate of vaccination against COVID-19.
The National Health Information Centre issued an EU Digital COVID Card as evidence of vaccination under a European Commission Regulation which expires on 30.6.2023. However, the issue of a document demonstrating vaccination against COVID-19 disease may continue to be requested. From 1 July, NCZI starts issuing a document at national level entitled "Certificate of vaccination carried out against COVID-19." The application and extradition process itself does not change. However, the document will no longer be generated automatically, but only on request. The certificate is requested by electronic means via https://korona.gov.sk/ on the part of the licence (s). The document is in Slovak and English language. It is no longer issued to overcome or test for COVID-19.
The World Health Organisation (WHO) is preparing to take over the issue of certificates of vaccination against COVID-19. In the future, the digital form of the licence could also be extended to other types of vaccination (e.g. pre-travel vaccinations of the abdominal typhoid, Japanese encephalitis, yellow fever, cholera). The Slovak Republic wants to provide its citizens with this WHO certificate service facilitating free movement.
