The Ministry of Health publishes on its website information about job vacancies at mobile procurement points (MOM) and regional public health offices throughout Slovakia. The list of health establishments authorised to operate mobile sampling points and also contacts is available at: https://www.health.gov.sk/?MOM-brigadaThe aim of the Ministry of Health is to strengthen the capacity of health professionals to collect biological material and detect viral respiratory disease. Following the amendment adopted by the Health Care Providers and Healthcare Professionals Act (No 578/2004) These activities may also be carried out by students enrolled in full-time courses in general medicine, nursing and emergency health care. The current epidemiological situation shows us that medical expertise is needed. That is why we have extended the definition of a healthcare professional, stated Minister of Health Marek Krajčí. The condition is that students of general medicine already have completed studies of at least eight semesters, nursing students and emergency health care at least two semesters. However, students will always work under the supervision of health workers - doctors, paramedics, nurses, or practical nurses. The student shall demonstrate to the medical institution the medical fitness, integrity and completion of the required part of the study.
The role of the Ministry of Health in this process, however, is merely to communicate information on job vacancies. Specific agreements will be signed directly by students with individual MOMs. To date, students are looking for temporarys to help MOMKA in Poprad, Piestany, Skalica and Lučenec.
Students in the public health field can also undergo prescribed practical instruction at regional public health authorities, within 1 504 hours of experience, which are compulsory students in the daily form of bachelor's studies. The list and offers of vacancies will be continuously updated by the Ministry of Health.
