The adopted amendment to the COvid Card Act is intended to help prevent the collapse of hospitals. Representatives of the Government Coalition also declare that schools, churches will not be closed across the board and other operations will remain open thanks to the amendment. They agreed on this after Sunday's approval of the amendment to the Act on the protection of public health in the National Council of the Slovak Republic.
"This amendment does not change anything seriously, it is just a preparation to keep wellness centres, restaurants and all other businesses in operation in a degraded situation that may occur, so that culture and sport can also function," said Minister for Health Vladimír Lengvarský to contribute to the prevention of restrictions on rights. He pointed out that the amendment was bringing us to European level and that what had already been working elsewhere would apply.
"The goal is to get ready for the third wave and not have to close any operations," remarked Chairman of the OĽANO Michal Šipoš Group. He thanked the coalition partners for not succumbing to the pressure of the opposition's deception and supported the amendment. At the same time, he called on the opposition to stop misleading the public and people protesting to the ORs. He claims that if they did not approve the law, then there would be collapse and sacrifices on lives would increase.
The Head of the SaS Group Anna Zemanová, Minister of Education, declared that there would be no closure of schools across the board. "Trades, businesses, schools, culture, sports facilities, even so much mentioned churches will be open to those who are considerate of their surroundings," added Chairman of the Parliamentary Health Committee Jana Bittó Gyániková (SaS). According to her words, it is not only about the vaccinated but also those who do not want to vaccinate and behave responsibly.
Member Juraj Šeliga (For the People) talks about the victory of common sense. He rejects the theory of dividing people into two categories. Thanks to the novel, we can prepare for the deterioration of the situation. He repeatedly called on people to be vaccinated.
According to the amendment, the Office of Public Health of the Slovak Republic will be able to take into account the digital CVID card when creating anti-pandemic measures. This informs whether the person has been vaccinated against COVID-19 disease, tested negative or overcome the disease.
