Ministry of Health and Public Health Office Slovak Republic continues announced expansion of laboratory diagnostics of new coronavirus. Samples from suspected COVID-19 patients begin investigate from today (24.03.2020) and in Trencin.
For public health authorities in Slovakia so laboratory diagnostics are carried out by four subjects, National Reference Centre for Influenza at the Public Health Office of the Slovak Republic, Regional Public Office Health based in Banská Bystrica, Regional Public Office Health based in Košice and the Regional Public Health Office with established in Trencin. Our labs will be able to investigate about a day. 1000 samples (the number of samples examined depends on the number of samples imported).
Laboratory diagnostics are also performed by Virological Institute Biomedical Centre of the Slovak Academy of Sciences (SAV). Test capacities for the state can also be strengthened through universities.
