The Ministry of Health has incorporated the latest scientific knowledge on access to the treatment of patients with COVID-19 into the published standard practice for general medical practice. The published document also includes a clear chart - the patient's path - which provides the physician with information on optimal management and treatment of the patient with COVID-19. The schedule is designed to be clear for patients as well.

The published patient's path (s) shall indicate the steps taken by the general practitioner to deal with the management and treatment of a patient with COVID-19 disease in order to prevent a possible deterioration of his health. According to hospital information, patients with COVID-19 are often admitted in very poor health. The reason for this may be the concern of hospitalization patients, failure to inform the general physician about the positive for COVID-19 and the lack of management of the patient by the physician. The aim of the document is to optimize the process of outpatient care for patients with COVID-19 disease in order to avoid hospitalization or, if necessary, to allow the patient to be in hospital in a timely manner," said State Secretary at the Ministry of Health Peter Stachura. It further stated that the standard procedures are regularly updated by the Ministry. The Health Department has also modified the standard procedure for healthcare provision in the general adult practice during the COVID-19-pandemic. The third update published on 17 March 2021 regulates the procedure of general practitioners in the treatment of patients with COVID-19.
