Students of medical institutions will be able to practice and thus to complete their studies properly, even at the time of the extended emergency. This allows them to opt out in the decreed governments of the extension of the emergency adopted by the government. Emergency condition in Slovakia extends from 20.3 to 28.4.2021."A derogation is created from the curfew for the exercise of practice in health care institutions for students of higher education institutions of health care." informed the State Secretary of the Ministry of Health Peter Stachura. This exception reflects the requirement of higher education institutions with a health focus. "They complained that practice was necessary for physiotherapists, nurses, doctors and other medical purposes to be able to leave school in due time," explained the State Secretary. Comenius University in Bratislava had previously pointed out that students of the last year of dental medicine were at risk of repeating their semester due to lack of practice and thus not completing their studies. They were not exempted from the curfew and were therefore unable to undergo prescribed practical instruction. The exceptions will concern: student in the 4th, 5th and 6th years in the field of study general medicine, student in the 2nd and 3rd years in the field of study nursing, student in the 2nd and 3rd years in the field of study midwifery, student in the 4th, 5th and 6th years in the field of study dental medicine, student in the 4th and 5th years in the field of study pharmacy, student in the 2nd and 3rd years in the field of study public health, student in the field of study health sciences in the university, specialized teaching equipment and specialized equipment of higher education. They will be shown to be negative for the antigen test or RT-PCR test not more than seven days old. Or by confirming that they have overcome COVID-19 and have evidence of this not older than three months, or have been vaccinated and have passed at least 14 days since the second dose.
