Doctors and nurses from Romania complete their mission in Slovakia. In recent weeks they helped patients with COVID-19 disease at the National Institute of Heart and Vascular Diseases in Bratislava. Peter Stachura, State Secretary of the Slovak Republic, thanked them for their sacrificial work.
Slovakia has requested assistance from other countries with staff to treat patients with COVID-19 through the EU Civil Protection Mechanism. It was necessary to address the difficult situation in hospitals and the lack of doctors and medical staff with some specialties.
Romania responded to our request and sent a team of medics to us. They worked for three weeks at the National Institute of Heart and Vascular Diseases. State Secretary at the Ministry of Health, Peter Stachura, personally thanked them for their excellent and professional work in saving the lives and health of our patients. I very much appreciate the Romanian party's quick response to help Slovakia. This is an expression of European solidarity and cooperation. Although Slovakia has not yet had any experience with similar international assistance, I consider the work done and the commitment of the mixed Slovak team to Romania to be extremely successful, said State Secretary Stachura.
Primary Department of Anesthesiology and Intensive Medicine NÚSCH Ingrid The oil lady appreciated the cooperation and expertise of colleagues from abroad. We worked on one team that had to learn how to communicate, we were not only doctors from our institution and abroad, but also colleagues from the University Hospital in Bratislava.
