The Bardejov district has quickly, exceptionally since Friday, entered into the plum color. This is due to the rapid spread of coronavirus in the region. At the request of regional health professionals, the government of the Slovak Republic has exceptionally included the district of Bardejov from today into the wood color. Minister of Health Vladimir Lengvarský came to see the situation in the region, along with the team discussed at the local Regional Public Health Office.
Since Monday they have registered 150 positives tested for COVID-19 disease in the region, only this day recorded more than 40 positive ones by the afternoon. The Regional Public Health Office has visited Vladimír Lengvarský, State Secretary of the MZ SR Kamil Száz and Secretary General of the Peter Ferjančík Service Office together with the team today. The minister called on people to vaccinate to protect them from serious disease and asked people to follow the measures closely.
We want to prevent massive community proliferation. The ideal way of protecting against serious disease is by vaccination. At the moment we are talking about a worsening situation in narrow communities or small municipalities. In cooperation with the district authorities and municipalities, we will prepare the procedure," said Minister V. Lengvarský.
Regional health care professionals carry out thorough checks in the district, which they say will intensify.
One of the outbreaks that caused the virus to spread was the wedding. We also control traffic and people who come from abroad. We will certainly step up the checks, said rRÚVZ Bardejov, Ivana Klobušovská.
It is important that people report to us in time if they have been in contact with a person who is positive for COVID-19. We therefore call on the inhabitants of the region to contact our regional office as soon as possible, Daniela Klímová, leader of the Department of Epidemiology and Education to the Health of RÚVZ Bardejov. The rules that apply in individual districts by colour can be found at:
