The number of hospitalised patients associated with COVID-19 is high. According to current statistics, there are 2319 patients with or suspected of coronavirus in hospitals, of whom 2105 have confirmed disease. Intensive healthcare requires 160 patients, support for artificial lung ventilation needs 150 people. From this week on, the first hospital is being launched exclusively for patients with COVID-19. It's a hospital in Nové Mesto nad Váhom. The medical facility will help in the provision of health care in the most busy region in Slovakia, Trenčín region. Available for patients with coronavirus is 60 beds in the healthcare facility in Nové Mesto nad Váhom. The situation in hospitals requires a radical solution, the number of hospitalized people with COVID-19 disease continues to grow, we had to intervene by creating a separate hospital for patients with COVID-19, said Minister for Health of the SR Marek Krajčí. I thank hospitals and all healthcare professionals very much for helping in this difficult situation. First we decided to turn the hospital in Nové Mesto nad Váhom into a healthcare facility specially designed for healthcare for patients with COVID-19. We decided to do so in view of the epidemiological situation in the county and the worsening situation with the number of positive people tested in the region. We can only manage the growing numbers of hospitalized patients if we are coherent and fight against COVID-19 together, said State Secretary MZ SR Peter Stachura. The Ministry of Health implements a selection of hospitals comprehensively reserved for patients with COVID-19 disease very sensitive and cautiously. We must continue to ensure that the provision of healthcare to patients and other diagnoses is maintained.
