Hospital capacities for patients with COVID-19 are rapidly being met, many are already reporting exceeded maxima. Currently, only 20 beds are available throughout Slovakia for new patients who would need support for artificial lung ventilation. For new patients who do not need oxygen support, approximately 600 beds are available.
The Ministry of Health coordinates the situation very closely in cooperation with hospitals and self-governing regions. Currently, the order of the head of the resort to limit the so-called "white medicine" is in force, i.e. planned procedures, the transfer of which will not result in a deterioration of the patient's health. We are reaching a turning point where we need to coordinate the situation very carefully. Unfortunately, the most critical situation is in regions where vaccination is the lowest. We transport patients in cooperation with the Emergency Health Service Operations Centre to hospitals that still report spare capacities. At the same time, I instructed hospitals in the most affected regions to reprofil beds beyond the initial maximum third stage of capacity said Minister of Health Vladimír Lengvarský.
In the regions in eastern Slovakia, we have already asked some specialised institutes to prepare capacities for patients with COVID-19. We are also preparing the involvement of off-site medical facilities. Thanks to the e-bed application we know exactly where there are many beds available and the emergency room with the patient is directed to a particular medical facility explained the State Secretary of MZ SR Kamil Száz.
I want to thank all the heroes in the hospitals, our paramedics. Thank you for the patient's commitment and care, and I appreciate it immeasurably. I stand by you and we can handle the situation together said Health Minister Vladimir Lengvarsky. Up-to-date information directly from hospitals (data source – 15.11. afternoon):

(We do not yet serve as a specialised institution for a number of patients who do not have our diagnosis. NÚSCH, a.s., has not yet reprofiled beds. However, we are ready for this if necessary).
Number of beds available for patients in need of CPV: 2 beds for patients who have been diagnosed with Covid-19 as their secondary disease, while requiring specialist medical care.
Eastern Slovakian Cancer Institute in Košice:
VOU, a.s. as a highly specialised institution has prepared reprofiled beds for patients who have been diagnosed with COVID-19 as their secondary disease and at the same time their medical condition requires specialised medical care. Currently, the UI does not have such a hospitalized patient. The U.S.A. has 4 beds ready, the hospital is ready to expand capacity to a total of 20.VOD has not yet been forced to postpone healthcare.
National Cancer Institute in Bratislava:
The National Cancer Institute also provides full cancer care during the pandemic. IN THE NOO, cancer treatments, including cancer surgery, continue as well as investigations by our oncologists to monitor the effectiveness of the treatment. At the same time, the operation of the NOO COVID department was launched, where 8 beds are available for cancer patients with associated COVID-19 disease who are currently being treated at the institute (they are for chemotherapy or radiotherapy). Currently, at the Department of Anesthesiology and Intensive Medicine, one free bed is allocated to the covid artificial lung ventilation. Since the operation program in the hospital is fully operational, it needs to be available to all ten ventilated beds (1 bed allocated to the covidal artificial lung ventilation, 4 to non-civid and five ICUs) for oncology patients with severe medical conditions following a severe surgery, possibly with deterioration during chemotherapy, or for cancer patients with associated COVID-19 disease.
