All healthcare facilities in the Prešov region, where doctors, nurses and other healthcare professionals care for patients with COVID-19, are in the highest third phase of reprofiling the bed fund. The most critical situation is with beds for patients who need artificial lung ventilation, where the occupancy of beds is 96%. Hospitals from Prešov region report the following numbers in occupancy:- 93% occupancy of beds with oxygen connection (from 508 is occupied 473), - 95% occupancy of beds with high-flow connection (from 43 is occupied 41), - 96% occupancy of beds with connection to artificial lung ventilation (from 53 is occupied 51 beds).

In the past week, 165 patients were transferred to other hospitals, 35 of whom required artificial pulmonary ventilation support. I'm following the situation with my team very closely, stated Minister of Health Vladimír Lengvarský. In the Prešov region there is limited "white care" for a high number of patients with COVID-19 disease. Steps whose transfer does not lead to a deterioration in the patient's health will be postponed to later dates due to capacity utilisation. However, we assure everyone in need of acute health care will receive it, explains State Secretary MZ SR Kamil Száz. The Ministry of Health, in cooperation with regional coordinators in cooperation with Prešov Self-Governing Region and hospitals, has been taking action in advance and, due to the seriousness of the situation in the Prešov region, has since today (Monday) also involved specialised institutions in helping with the provision of beds, where the patient's condition requires the support of artificial lung ventilation. All medical facilities in the region have been requested to maximise their capacity for patients with COVID-19 disease beyond the capacities mentioned in phase III reprofilation. We are also preparing the involvement of non-ministerial medical institutions, said Minister of Health Vladimír Lengvarský. The Ministry of Health, in cooperation with the Prešov Self-Governing Region, calls on people to be vaccinated without delay. Vaccination protects against serious COVID-19 disease, thus eliminating the number of patients in hospitals. Help you also have a very exhausted nurse.
