The management of the Ministry of Health of the Slovak Republic met again with representatives of both hospitals in the establishment of the Ministry of Health and the Association of Hospitals of Slovakia. They discussed an emergency situation, shared mutual information and up-to-date data. The Ministry monitors hospital occupancy as well as the state of protective equipment through a single system that is updated daily by individual hospitals. In Slovakia, we have 460 standard infectious beds. Already in the last week, by order of the Minister for Health, there was an expansion of hospital beds for the needs of infectious departments by an additional 700 beds. If necessary, we can adapt them to change the additional beds to infective ones, even in hospitals where they do not normally have the infection department or beds for patients with coronavirus or with suspicion. The Ministry of Health monitors the exact data, consults them with experts and we set the rules so that we have the capacities ready in advance and people in Slovakia get full health care.
