After the opening of large-scale vaccination centers in Bratislava and Poprad, their number in Slovakia increased to 14. The Ministry of Health with self-governing regions prepares the establishment in other cities.
Accelerating human vaccination is one of the absolute priorities of the Ministry of Health. Therefore, in cooperation with self-governing regions, it prepares the creation of additional large-capacity vaccination centres in Slovakia.
New centers were opened this weekend at the National Football Stadium in Bratislava and Poprad.
The current number of 14 centres should soon expand new large-scale vaccination centres in Rimavská Sobota, Žiar nad Hronom, Nitra and Trenčín region.
Co-operation with counties in the creation of large-scale vaccination centres has proved very effective. In fact, municipalities are able to assess the accessibility of the centre in terms of regional specificities and potential interest in the vaccination itself when planning new sites.
The counties are also a key partner for the Ministry of Health in expanding vaccination capacities, also given their impact on outpatient healthcare providers, without which it would not be possible to carry out mass vaccination of applicants in large capacity centres.
