Slovakia is preparing to start vaccination against COVID-19. Only pending approval by the European Agency (EMA). The first vaccine could be registered just before the end of 2020. Consequently, vaccination could be launched in other European Union countries as well. Britain has already started vaccination. Canada also approved the use of the vaccine.
The countries of the European Union, namely Slovakia, are waiting for the approval of vaccines against COVID-19. The European Medicines Agency (EMA) has received two applications for the conditional registration of vaccines. The first applicant is Biontech and Pfizer and the second Moderna Biotech Spain, S.L. If the quality, efficacy and safety data submitted meet the requirements for the registration of the vaccine, registration decisions may be issued in a few weeks. The first vaccine could be an opinion on 29 December 2020. With Moderna Biotech Spain, S.L. can be 12 January 2021. Both applications are mRNA vaccines. Their task is to prepare the human body to defend against the infection caused by the coronavirus SARS-CoV-2. It also finishes the development of other vaccines. The final date for starting vaccination is dependent on the decision of the European Medicines Agency. Once the vaccines are delivered, vaccination is started. Minister of Health Marek Krajčí reiterates that vaccination will be optional. rod The first to be vaccinated will be workers working directly with people infected with the virus. Alongside the paramedics, soldiers, cops and firemen will be vaccinated first. Also, people who provide, for example, energy distribution in the state and other activities without which the country cannot function, " explained the Minister for Health. He added that the third group was workers in social services homes. People over the age of 65 and clients of social services homes, who are among the most at risk, will follow, as will patients with chronic diseases and later the rest of the population over 16 years of age.
The reasons why the vaccine is here so quickly
1 . The development of the vaccine on Covid-19 has become an absolute priority in scientific and pharmaceutical circles this year.
2 . Great amounts of energy and finance were concentrated in the development, also at the cost of delaying other projects. This allowed vaccine manufacturers to maximise the number of experts and scientists who worked on vaccine development.
3. A number of processes related to the development and testing of the vaccine have been optimised and bureaucratised, but never at the expense of safety itself.
4. Clinical trials as such are conducted as standard. Simplified and accelerated is what happens around them.
5. Under normal circumstances, the individual stages of the preclinical and clinical trials follow sequentially one after the other. In this case, the second round started in parallel - before the first round was completed.
6 . The resulting product must undergo all phases as well as any other vaccine. Finding volunteers was relatively easy, it is not usually more difficult in the normal situation. The resulting vaccine will be equally safe.7 . Some companies started the production of vaccines themselves before their final final approval, thus risking themselves. If their vaccines are approved, they will be marketed faster.
8 . The development of the Covid-19 vaccine could be linked to the research and development of the MERS vaccine, which is also caused by the coronavirus.
