The Ministry of Health of the Slovak Republic has made free antigen testing available to all residents of Slovakia through the establishment of mobile collection points (MOM).
Mobile collection points that carry out free antigen testing are established under contract of operators with the Ministry of Health of the Slovak Republic. The developers have undertaken to comply in writing with strict criteria, including the staffing of MOM, spatial, technical and sanitary equipment, as well as the minimum guaranteed daily collection capacity of antigen tests or operating time.
On a regular basis, the Ministry of Health evaluates the occupancy of MOM and increases the capacity to make free antigen testing more accessible. More than 100 PCR test sampling points and 481 antigen test sites are currently available, of which 204 can be ordered. The exact list is continuously updated on the Health Ministry's web portal here: https://www.health.gov.sk/?ag-mom. At the same time, the regional public health authorities approved new mobile delivery points during January 1416 so that anyone interested can be tested.
MOM operate under contract with MZ SR and their operation is financed from the state budget. Therefore, in the course of January, the resort carried out an unofficial check on compliance with the contractual terms to which the operators committed themselves. The inspection included compliance with personnel and technical equipment, compliance with hygiene and safety standards or operating time. Based on the results of the inspection, contracts for the operation of MOM have been terminated with some operators.
On the basis of the results of the inspection, additional control mechanisms and sanctions were included in the new contracts with MOM operators. The goal of MZ SR is to ensure the availability of free antigen testing to all residents of Slovakia and also efficiency in the use of taxpayers' funds.
The Ministry of Health of the Slovak Republic, in view of the ever-growing network of MOM throughout Slovakia, extends the scope for their control. In addition to the respective RÚVZ, representatives of towns and villages or higher territorial units, who expressed their willingness to help MZ SR in ensuring supervision, have delegated control of their activities. Citizens can also address their complaints directly to the Ministry info.momag@health.gov.sk.
