Coronavirus and its mutations are still actively spreading in Slovakia, together we can eliminate the risk of transmission of infection by compliance with measures, set rules and recommendations. We offer a summary of practical information and advice.
How long do I have to be quarantined if I've been in contact with a -- positive?
After close contact with COVID positive, isolate yourself, not test immediately. If you have been in close contact with a person who is positive for COvid-19 disease, you should be in preventive home isolation for 14 days. The time limit shall be calculated from the last contact with positive.
As close contact you can consider:

When can I take the test if I have been in close contact with the positive to find an adequate result?
You should go to the RT-PCR test for day 8. This is a change where testing at day 5 was recommended so far after contact with a positive person. Only then will you know the relevant result of whether you have contracted from the infected. Subscribe to the RT-PCR test is available online here: https://korona.gov.sk/poziadat-o-sun-na-civid-19/
If you have a negative result, you still need to complete two weeks' home insulation for preventive reasons.
What should I do if I return from abroad?
After returning from abroad, I will first fill out the e-frontier form and register here: http://korona.gov.sk/ehraničica.
If I come back from risky countries, I will have 14 days of home insulation during which I will be tested by the RT-PCR test at the earliest 8 days. If the result is negative, home insulation ends.
If my children are under the age of 10, their isolation will end with other members of the common household. After coming from abroad even one person, then for preventive reasons in the home isolation all members of the common household.

In case my family and I don't take part in testing and we have an unsymptomed course, home isolation ends after 14 days.
If I come back from any of the EU countries, Iceland, Norway, Lichtenstein and Switzerland, and I do not show a negative RT-PCR test for less than 72 hours, I have to go to home isolation. The same rules apply on 14-day isolation and 8-day test.
If I come back from the Czech Republic or Austria, I don't have to go into home isolation if I have a negative antigen test not more than 72 hours old. In this case, I also do not need to register via the e-frontier form.
If I'm positive for COVID-19, can I shop at the supermarket or in food?
No. If I'm positive for the disease, I can't go among other people and spread the virus. In this case I use online shopping and delivery at the front door, or I ask my neighbors to buy and put bags in front of the door.
Also help with shopping is offered by some municipalities, Slovak Red Cross or charitable organizations.
If I have no other option, the final step, but we do not recommend it, is to visit the nearest food with the respirator FFP2 without exhalation valve, with respect to all sanitary measures such as hand disinfection before leaving the house and when entering the shop and keeping distance from other people.
How many tests and what tests do I be entitled to monthly preventive testing?
As of 1 February, I have a RT-PCR test covered by health insurance twice a month. If you need a higher testing frequency in one month, I can test in unlimited number by antigen test.
Can I travel in public transport without a test?
Regardless of the colors of the districts, it is advisable if I travel public transport to be tested once every 7 days. In this case, it is a recommendation and a call from the Ministry of Health that people only take a negative test for public transport.
