Oncological patients of the Banská Bystrica region have reached a modernized radiotherapy workplace with two new linear accelerators. In the FNsP F.D. Roosevelta Banská Bystrica opened it today in the presence of the Minister of Health of the Slovak Republic Vladimir Lengvarsky.

I am pleased to see the improvement of healthcare provision for patients in practice and we are witnessing it today. From the capital expenditure of the state, we invested more than EUR 4 million in the purchase of equipment and construction works. It is an investment in improving oncology care for the inhabitants of Central Slovakia, but also for people from other parts of our country who can be treated and diagnosed specifically in the Banská Bystrica Faculty Hospital, stated Minister of Health Vladimír Lengvarský.
Oncological diseases are still among the most common among the population in Slovakia. One of the options for life-saving treatment is radiation therapy. The installed modern technologies are, compared to the original of 2008,a huge technological step forward. New features improve control control of illness, prolong patient survival a significantly reduce the undesirable effects of radiation therapy. I am very pleased that after two years of reconstruction of the premises, public tender, exchange and adjustment of equipment, we can make modern and quality radiation treatment available to the patients of the Banská Bystrica region, be their support and hope in a difficult moment of life and accompany them on the way to improving or cure the disease.
