In May 2024, the government of the Slovak Republic approved a resolution on the site of the construction of a new National University Hospital in the capital and on the change in the use of the site Rázsochy for the purpose of the construction of the National Institute of Children's Diseases. Since then, the Department of Health has intensively continued to take the necessary steps to prepare materials for the next decision of the Government of the Slovak Republic on these projects.
The opposition constantly politicians and questions the construction of new terminal hospitals in Bratislava. However, the facts say something completely different. During the summer, the Ministry of Health prepared appropriate procurement documents for the preparation of an analytical evaluation of the feasibility of both intentions. The final study will be prepared and submitted for discussion by the Government of the Slovak Republic, said Minister for Health Zuzana Dolinková. Today the time limit for the submission of tenders has been completed and the actual contracting authority is starting to evaluate the tenders submitted.
The Health Implementation Agency has also submitted additional documents to the Ministry containing estimated financial and personnel needs to ensure the preparation and management of these projects.
After 40 years of promises and frustrated plans, the Ministry of Health is doing its utmost to finally start the construction of modern Bratislava terminal hospitals, which will provide top-quality care for both adults and children, while at the same time being an excellent educational place for doctors and young health professionals.Minister Zuzana Dolink said.
