The Ministry of Health of the Slovak Republic has also updated this year a successful call to support the establishment of new general offices in the deficient districts in Slovakia. The third call will last from August 2024 to December 2025, while remaining flexible and reflecting the comments of both doctors and self-governing regions. More than €4 million is currently allocated to the promotion of ambulances, while the amount of the contribution will continue to be paid once to beneficiaries.
–Also, funding from the Recovery and Resilience Plan is one of the incentives for doctors of first contact to open offices in regions where there is a shortage and most needed. In the Recovery and Resilience Plan, a total of EUR 10 million has been allocated to support the emergence of new general offices for 2022 to 2026, thanks to which approximately 120 new offices for adults, children and adolescents are to be gradually established in Slovakia. said Minister for Health Zuzana Dolinková. As she added, she is aware that financial support for the creation and functioning of the ambulance does not cover all expenses, but it is a significant help and motivation at start-up.
The aim of this measure is to increase the capacity of the public minimum network of general outpatient care providers in scarce regions and to motivate young professionals and professionals to choose a career path for a general practitioner or primary paediatrician.
–V We care about the recovery plan for healthy regions. It is extremely important that quality health care is accessible to all citizens, especially in regions that are in short supply. I am therefore pleased with the high interest in the challenge and the fact that doctors return to these areas. At the same time, interest in a call to support ambulances shows that if we create opportunities for doctors and give them a helping hand to get started, we motivate them to stay and build a network of better and more accessible health care, said Peter Kmec Deputy Prime Minister of the Slovak Republic for the Recovery Plan and the Knowledge Economy. As he added, they will do everything in the Recovery Plan to continue this positive trend.
A new call has been launched since 1.8.2024. This includes an updated list of bottlenecks with extended validity until December 2025. The maximum amount of one contribution remains EUR 80 000 and is paid in one lump sum. Another change in the new call is the increased flat-rate number of contributions that can be allocated to self-governing regions within their competence. The flat-rate number of contributions for all orange districts was increased from 5 to 10 contributions for general medicine, 10 contributions for paediatrics, and can also be used for red and black districts if the number of contributions listed is exhausted.
As in the previous call, applicants continue to be:
- Increase in the amount of the contribution - Contribution up to 80 000 Euro according to the threat level of the district.
- One-off payment of the contribution - The contribution will continue to be made one-off upon the submission of a valid permit to operate a new general office.
- An extended range of eligible applicants which includes:-New physicians specialising in general medicine or paediatrics interested in becoming a healthcare provider. - Existing providers in all types of healthcare. - Legal persons who are not yet healthcare providers but who are interested in becoming such. -Offerers of general outpatient care in return who have set up a new general practice in the period 1.1.2022 Þ 31.7.2024 in the site listed in the current list for the period.
- Off-time ratification - The new doctor will submit a request and 4 documents to the Ministry (the doctor's code number issued by the ÚDZS, the data necessary for issuing a criminal record, a local impact test and a summary declaration of honour).
