The Ministry of Health improves and simplifies the conditions for operating ambulances. The order MZ SR, which regulates the minimum requirements for staffing and material and technical equipment of outpatient facilities, entered into force. Ambulances will thus be able to use both staff and equipment more efficiently.
The Decree, which replaces the original adaptation of the 2008 minimum requirements, covers: general ambulances, specialised ambulances, ambulances for fixed and additional emergency services, ambulances for dental emergency services, overnight health care facilities, stations, joint investigation and treatment facilities, home nursing agencies, mobile hospices and tissue establishments.
The new decree will, for example, allow you to employ a practical nurse and an assistant in a specialised office. So far, specialists have had to employ a sister, and after a new one, they will be able to decide between a nurse and a practical nurse - an assistant in view of the extent of the services provided in the ambulance. It is still the case that any healthcare professional can perform only those operations for which he is authorised, i.e. the scope of the defined competences must be respected. At the same time, ambulances will also receive the possibility of sharing nurses and practical nurses with an assistant or instrument equipment when operating two to four ambulances in the same place.
The new decree reflects the needs of the out-patient sector and will enable out-patients to respond better to staff and operational challenges. It also maintains safety and professional standards of care provision. The Order entered into force on 22 September 2025 and is subject to a transitional period until 30 June 2027.
