An extra 365 million euros is due to come to health care this year. The higher payment for state policyholders is expected to bring EUR 100 million, while the capital of the State's General Health Insurance company is expected to increase by EUR 120 million. Another EUR 145 million should bring higher premium collection.
Igor Matovič, Minister of Finance, informed about this at a press conference on Tuesday. "In total, it is about 365 million euros, so it worked out and so it is honest. At the same time, so much funding is needed for public health insurance in order to ensure the running that we need to be provided with adequate healthcare," said Matovič.
Health Minister Vladimir Lengvarsky added that today's agreement is only the beginning. They should follow further measures in terms of better distribution of money among insurance companies, as well as measures to ensure that the money to be used by patients is actually delivered to them. "All the measures that are and will be implemented are aimed at appreciating the work of our health professionals and enabling better care for our patients," he said.
The increase in health resources according to Lengvarsky responds to salary increases resulting from the so-called pay slot. "It also reflects the increase in salaries due to 350-euro premiums at the end of the year and also seven euro covid allowances, as this increases the average salary," explained the head of the health department. According to him, there will also be room for overall salary increases when negotiating new contracts with health insurance companies and good hospital management.
According to him, funding should also address the dissatisfaction of healthcare providers who are threatened with termination of contracts with health insurance companies. "We have tried to increase the budget so that all the requirements raised by employers and healthcare providers are met to a very significant extent," said Lengvarsky.
