Health Department and cooperation with OECD

In connection with the membership of the Slovak Republic in the OECD, the Department of Health is closely involved in OECD activities and participates in the tasks arising from this activity.
Ministry of Health of the Slovak Republic is a gestor Health Committee, which actively participates in those projects by contributing data to the OECD database. The output of this activity is the continuous harmonisation of collected health data and quality indicators of healthcare provision, with the possibility of analysing and comparing them nationally and internationally. Cooperation with the OECD is assessed as positive and beneficial. It is implemented through analysis of individual problems and data collection, by contributing health data to the OECD database and thus by participating in publication activities. As part of the activities of the relevant working bodies, the Slovak Republic is represented by experts in the preparation of guidelines, guidelines and recommendations for the Member States, where on the other hand their implementation is possible in various areas of health policy in Slovakia.

One of the most important forms of cooperation covered by the voluntary contribution of Slovakia are Joint projects SR and OECD. The Ministry of Health of the Slovak Republic and its budgetary organizations actively benefit from membership of the Slovak Republic in the OECD, where various types of activities co-financed by the state budget of the Slovak Republic are implemented through the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the Slovak Republic.

In 2013, the OECD published a key summary of health statistics. Health at a Glance 2013. The report makes it possible to follow health trends and compare member and selected non-OECD countries. The publication maps areas such as health status, labour and health activities or performance, which include quality of healthcare, access to healthcare, expenditure and funding.
