Introduction:
The aim of the project is to help reduce the effects of the corona crisis, which takes place in the world but especially in the context of the current situation concerning the protection of public health of Slovak citizens. The Coronavirus outbreak represents a strong pressure on the entire medical system, which has not been prepared for this epidemic and sufficiently material-technically equipped. In terms of economy, the central purchase of more than one type of goods has proven to be a more efficient tool in achieving the economy of public expenditure in recent years. In order to minimise the impact of shocks on the supply side of selected commodities on health care provision, the Ministry of Health of the Slovak Republic provided central purchase of special medical equipment for invasive treatment of COVID-19, which was subsequently placed in institutional health care facilities.

This will be a priority to address the promotion of the health system, funding measures in the areas of prevention, diagnosis, treatment and treatment of patients diagnosed with COVID-19, with emphasis on material-technical equipment for medical and laboratory facilities, adaptation of the working environment and access to healthcare.

Main activities
Individual activities will be provided through the Ministry of Health of the Slovak Republic as the beneficiary of the national project in cooperation with the partner of the project, which is the Public Health Office of the Slovak Republic, its regional offices and the State Food and Veterinary Institute. The need for funding of medical equipment, testing, disease prevention measures, provision of protective equipment, medical devices, adaptation of the working environment and ensuring access to healthcare (prevention, diagnosis, treatment and treatment related to COVID-19) will be implemented across activities through routine and capital expenditure, through the following activities:

Activity No. 1: Medical system equipment for prevention, diagnosis and treatment of patients with COVID-19

As part of the activity will be realized purchase:

The equipment and instrumental capacity of the public health authorities' laboratories also proved insufficient and needed to be strengthened and equipped. In the first phase, purchases were made for the Office of Public Health of the Slovak Republic in Bratislava (hereinafter ÚVZ SR) and 3 regional public health authorities (hereinafter ÚVZ): R ÚVZ Banská Bystrica, R ÚVZ Košice, R ÚVZ Trenčín and the planned equipment R ÚVZ Komárno.

Activity No. 2: Raising awareness of the Slovak population about prevention, treatment and protection against the spread of COVID-19.

The aim of this activity is to strengthen public confidence by clearly communicating the benefits and risks of preventive measures, including the importance of vaccines against COVID-19. The Council of the European Union is also very active in this subject at present, which is intensively communicating with the Member States on a common strategy for vaccination with COVID-19, which considers vaccination to be one of the most important if not key effective ways to beat the coronavirus and return to the normal way of life.

The outputs of the action will be an educational campaign to strengthen awareness-raising prevention measures, aimed at providing information and a positive emotion of belonging to close and vulnerable groups as well as towards health professionals. The campaign will produce information materials to strengthen prevention and popularise prevention measures against COVID-19 disease.

The following measurable indicators are planned through the implementation of the above activities:

PCV02 Name: Purchase of medical equipment

PCV07 Name: Fans to support COVID-19 treatment

PCV09 Name: Laboratories supported for testing on COVID-19

PCV12 Name: Information materials
