Second programme Community in the field of health for the years 2008 - 2013
The main objective of the programme is to protect and promote human health and improve public health through: three priority areasareas:
- Improving citizens' health security
- Promoting health and reducing public health inequalities
- Creation and dissemination of health information and knowledge
The programme is Centrally managed by the European Commission through an executive agency (EaHC). Member States shall ensure that information on programme activities is provided through the National Contact Points Network.

The conditions for implementing the programme are updated annually through the so-called "Programme." Work plans. The work plan sets out the eligible activities, the conditions for participation in the programme, specifies the evaluation criteria, defines the eligible expenditure, etc. The work plans for each year form the basis document for the launch of calls. The calls are announced annually throughout the programme implementation period.
