The Ministry completed a direct call for the modernisation of the network of emergency health service stations

The Ministry of Health has completed the preparatory phase of the investment in the network of emergency health service stations. The SR Recovery and Resilience Plan will create or reconstruct at least 55 stations.

The Health Department today directly called for the Slovak Health Service Operational Centre (OS ZZS SR) to conclude a contract for the provision of funds to the Mechanism. Thus, 30.6 million euros will travel from the Recovery and Resilience Plan to the upgrade of emergency medical service stations. New or renewed stations will serve rescuers as early as 2025.
The investment in at least 55 emergency health service stations is, according to the Department, the answer to long-term investment debt to the working conditions of rescue workers. These are often located in substandard areas, often not originally built as rescue stations.

New or renovated stations will improve the working environment of rescue workers, ensure adequate equipment of stations and in particular make emergency services more effective, as in the career of rescue workers often every minute saved decides life and death.

Last but not least, the operational centre will also ensure the geographical optimisation of the network of stations in line with other investments and reforms of the recovery and resilience plan of Slovakia.
The operational centre of the Slovak Health Service was designated as the beneficiary by the Government Resolution in July 2022. The organization has competence throughout Slovakia, has expertise in its field and especially many years of experience.
